WHAT IT IS
Mobile app designed for construction site managers.
Scanflow handle delivery notes directly on site and turns paperwork into a reliable mobile workflow.
OBJECTIVES
Delivery notes are often processed after the workday. Paper piles up, information is rewritten later.
Errors and delays are common.
MY ROLE
UX/UI designer (freelance)
Worked from early exploration to MVP design
Focus on usability in real-world, on-site conditions
THE PROBLEM ON SITE
Primary users
Construction site managers
Responsible for on-site coordination
Their constraints
Very limited attention span
Variable lighting and outdoor conditions (gloves)
Delivery notes are still processed manually:
Papers are collected throughout the day
Delivery information is handwritten
Key information is rewritten in haste or later on
Documents are sorted once back in the office
The challenge was to replace slow, error-prone processes with a workflow aligned with real on-site practices.
How might we help construction site managers scan and organize delivery notes directly on site, without slowing down their work?
USER TESTING
Testing setup
Tests conducted on low-fidelity wireframes with a small group of users with different levels of experience in construction site and delivery management.
Focus on the core task : reviewing and validating a delivery note
5 / 5 — What worked
The scanning flow was immediately understood
Navigation felt clear and intuitive, with quick access to scanning and saved documents
Key information was easy to identify after scanning
"It’s clear and simple, the app is easy to navigate."
User test participant
4 / 5 — What needed improvement
The profile screen was perceived as unnecessary
The data editing screen lacked clarity, with too much information displayed at once
Some users couldn’t find actions such as deleting a document
A need for reassurance before final validation was expressed
“I had to stop and double-check before validating the document.”

ITERATIONS
1
Removal of the profile screen
2
Clearer information grouping and manual item management (add & delete)
3
Adding the ability to delete a folder during its viewing.
4
Screen for verification added to prevent entry errors
